Kuddos (feedback and review) from a High school Senior's mom...

This is one of the things I love about my job.... hearing from satisfied customers...

"You took my daughter, Melissa, senior pictures last Sunday (I was out of town visiting my mom.) She was so nervous, she called me several times before she left and I really wished that I could have been there. However, Melissa was thrilled with the shoot and even more so with the pictures.

The pictures are so incredible - where is my  little girl? I teasingly told her that there were several that would have to be deleted as she just looked too pretty and sexy in them! You obviously take a lot of pride in your work and it shows. Thank you for putting her at ease and in succeeding in showing the real beautiful and promising young lady that is my daughter.  Seventeen is such a tough age but I really think she glimpsed what she can be - confident and grown up.

I had better stop before I get too mushy (she is our fifth and last child and you would think I would be a lot tougher).
Thanks for doing such a great job. I have already mentioned you to some friends and will be glad to recommend you.

Warm regards,

Judy"

I appreciate the customer review and will be adding it to my site.  :-)

Today...
Today I volunteered for the Parent Outreach center and assisted with a class at the highschool.  One of my strong passions in life aside from photography is teaching others.  If I am called to teach at the highschool I will definitely embrace that opportunity and continue with photography as my business away from teaching.

After the highschool I met up with the manager at Elegant Flowers in Dallas to find out about networking opportunities.  I will be shooting floral arrangements and their store as soon as they get back with me.

I may have the opportunity for booking another wedding in June... emailed a potential client today. :-)

I also love shooting close-ups of children.  They have the most beautiful little faces... so I decided to put some close-up photos together and designed an ad for close-up kid photography.  I even used a child font.  I've added new pricing and a referral program for child close-up photography sessions.  Check out the link on my home page for more info or click here.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!!

Busy Monday! Scheduled three photo sessions and met a new makup artist!
So today started off with booking a head shots photo session in downtown Dallas... then Samantha Ratcliffe and I met to come up with new ideas for future photo sessions.  We are currently building our fashion portfolio.

Then we went to the mall to look at Mac makeup prices and run a few errands when I met with Paloma.  She used to work for Glamour shots, so we had an interesting talk about that.  Hopefully she will be contacting me soon as I think she would be a great person to network and work with.

I also received an email and phone call from a new client that found me through google.  That's always great news to hear.  I scheduled a Senior portrait session and a Family session with her.

Last, we are deciding whether or not we should set up a mini studio at Traders Village this Saturday.  If so, Samantha and I may work with a mutual friend who knows how to run the computer system and printers while Sam does makeup and I do the photos.  We just don't know if the weather will be nice.  It is forcasted to have scattered thunderstorms.

That is it for now!

Busy Week!! Wedding Compliments, Chanel 23, Fashion Model Shoot, and a Fun Run with the Family Outreach Center...

Wow this has been a busy week!!  Last Wednesday I met with my makeup artist Samantha Ratcliffe, a hairstylist Christian, and our model Brittanee to shoot some amazing photos at the Mosaic in downtown Dallas.  The artwork is phenomenal there!  Our shoot was relocated to the Mosaic after the DMA (Dallas Museum of Art) would not allow us to photograph models in front of their art.  I'm glad I called first.  I'm actually thrilled that they did not allow us, otherwise we may have never had the opportunity to shoot at the Mosaic.  We shot in Christian's apartment, at the pool, in some chairs, and an awesome checkered floor. I can't wait to post more photos from the shoot.  There are a few at my models link at the top of this page.

On Thursday I interviewed with chanel 23!  A good friend of mine, Kim Edwards with Eyebrow Energy was called to explain her business of Eyebrow Threading to chanel 23 in an interview at her place on Bryan St.  I have been a client of Kim's since February when I met her at a social gathering in Downtown Dallas.  We met on a Friday and then did a bridal show together that Saturday. It has been a blast networking with Kim and then getting a chance to help her with an interview.  I also explained our business relationship of getting a bride or bridal party prepared for a photoshoot by doing her magic of eyebrow threading.  We also plan on doing quinceaneras in the future.

Friday I finished working on some Wedding photos and posted them to a gallery for a client.  I received an awesome review from her today via email.  This is what she said:

"Wow, the photos are fantastic!  You were a very busy girl during that 2 hours.  I had no idea you had taken so many pictures.

I know for sure we want the DVD and perhaps order a few of our favorite prints from you.  If you can jog my memory, does  the DVD include all the pictures posted under our site, or only those you haven’t applied special effects to?

Jarrett and I are so pleased we chose you as our photographer!  Thanks again for capturing our wedding memories for us!"

This morning I volunteered to photograph Bunny photos at White Rock Lake for the Fun Run benefiting the Family Outreach Center of Dallas.  I shot some really cute photos of the children who came for the Fun Run and all profit went directly to the Family Outreach Center.

I also met with a client last week and booked a wedding for the Surrey House!  God has been good!

I hope you have an amazing week!
