Destiny Photos is comprised of a family team; father, daughters, and son.  We are located in Dallas (Lake Highlands), TX area.  We photograph in areas around Dallas, Texas such as in Mesquite, Garland, Rockwall, Plano, McKinney, Ft. Worth, and more. We will travel within a 50 mile radius from the Lake Highlands area.  We can also travel for an additional fee.  Combined, we have over 40 years of experience.

We primarily shoot outdoor portraits (at parks, lakes, arboretum), in-your-home and/or backyard sessions, and specialize in weddings, quinceaneras, family portraits, child portraits and in action photos, major events, birthday parties, senior portraits, anniversaries, head shots, sports teams, and more.

Hello, my name is Yvette Richardson, my father is Russell Richardson, my sister is Juliette, and my brother is Russell Richardson Jr.  I have been shooting photos since 110 was popular.  My passion for photography came from watching my dad take pictures as I was growing up.  I received my first camera when I was about 7 or 8 years old.  I was a photographer for the high school newspaper and the photo editor for the yearbook my senior year.  I took photography in college and worked for Glamour Shots.  I am driven toward photography as a hobby and freelance mostly through references.  Feel free to check out my galleries at the link above.

On a personal note... I am also a substitute teacher and enjoy spending time with students, helping them grow.  Some of my favorite movies are 50 First dates, The Wedding Singer, The Ultimate Gift, Where the Heart is, A lot like love, The Proposal, and Slumdog Millionaire.  I don't watch much TV since I am either spending time with my daughter or working in adobe photoshop cs5.  However, I still love re-runs of Friends or I Love Lucy.  Occasionally I watch America's Next top model for any photography tips.  I’ve also started watching Bones from the beginning seasons.  I am attached to my thunderbolt  like it were part of my body and my next near attachment is my Macbook.  My favorite icecream is mango and my favorite cookie is oatmeal raisin.  I love working out at the gym when I can find the time and when I can't I love acting goofy and running around after my nieces and nephews.         

I have taken pictures of just about anything and If I haven't shot it before, I am open to shooting something new. However, my favorite is candid shots of people.  I enjoy capturing that special moment. I call it the "Decisive Moment", when there isn't a better expression than the one given.  My new logo is storybook photography because I feel that my pictures tell a story, from start to finish.  When I photograph children, I allow them to feel comfortable with me.  They give the most adorable expressions.  Children are fantastic at telling stories. I enjoy capturing as many unique and wonderful moments as possible.  I also apply this toward shooting in general.  It is one of the reasons I love shooting all types of photography.  There are so many perfect moments to capture!

I enjoy being a Dallas Wedding Photographer, Dallas Child Photographer, and any other photographer that you may need for your Dallas Event or Occasion.  Black and white photography is also a passion of mine.  There are images that can be more visually appealing in black and white verses color.  I use photoshop and lightroom to manipulate these images with contrast and filters to bring out the best looking black and white photos.  There are some that are adjusted with sepia toning and others that are beautiful when mixed with a splash of color, selective coloring.

      Photography to me.... is a hobby, a passion, and a creative way I can express my perception of expressions, colors, the way the sun high-lights a person's hair, creates patterns, and the shadows formed from light's absence.     I enjoy capturing a child's delight when they reach for a prized toy, or the joy in finding a true love.  It is truly amazing to photograph individual personalities.
